Spirit Speaks

An energy worker told me that I had weakness in my lower back because I didn't trust that the Universe supported me. I asked my Spirit guides for proof of their assistance as I practiced my yoga postures. If they heard my request, I would be gifted with wildlife encounters.  

A short while later, I was on my beloved mountain, Jaypeak, for a day of spring skiing. I told my partner I wanted to see animals on the hill. He was unaware of my earlier request to Spirit. He gave me a look that said, "Good luck!" It is uncommon to see wildlife on the mountain. We typically spot little birds and the occasional red squirrel.   

We rode the chair lift and basked in the sun and fresh air. On the second run of our day, a red fox darted before me, dashed up the slope, and disappeared into the evergreens. I stopped in my tracks. I excitedly looked behind me to see if my boyfriend saw the gorgeous animal. Nope, he was too far back to glimpse the creature. The fox's tracks in the snow confirmed my sighting.  

On the next ride up the mountain, a red squirrel ran across the trail below us and scampered up a tree. Exhilarated by two animal sightings in succession, I was confident that the Spirits heard my earlier request. In a moment of cockiness, I declared that I wanted to see an eagle! He looked at me as if I were crazy.  

The rest of the day passed as usual, with us plotting our runs and chatting. It was our last ride up. We were tired from the day's exertion when we spotted a bird high in the sky. We stared intently at the bird, looking for the tell-tale flash of white on the head or tail.   

We thought it was a turkey vulture at first, but the more we watched it, the greater our certainty rose that it was an eagle. The way it soared the thermal, the size, and the width of its wings helped to form our conclusion. When we reached the top, the bird was lower and overhead. The white head and tail were clearly visible. It was an eagle! Our sighting confirmed, the bird climbed dramatically and zoomed off into the distance. I was left with the distinct feeling that the "fly by" was deliberate.  

I was giddy from the sightings and Spirit's response! I learned that the Universe has my back, but I must ask for help.
